I've taken my music off all streaming services
Recently, I took the decision to finally remove all my music from every single streaming service - Spotify, Tidal, Apple Music, YouTube Music, etc. I've known for months that the CEO of Spotify, Daniel Ek (pictured in the thumbnail) has been investing in military AI drones, and with Spotify's recent changes such that you need to get 1000 streams before they even consider paying you for those streams, it's just not worth it.
I'm not feeding the machine. Streaming services see artists as disposable assets worthy of nothing but income to line their own pockets. I would encourage you see musicians and artists as something more valuable - buy their CDs and download/rip the MP3s to your phone, and get prints of your favourite artists' work from their own lil shops. They'll love you forever.
The recent decision by Mastercard and Visa to restrict storefronts Steam and Itch from selling NSFW, queer, and furry games has also been floating around in my mind lately, and it's reiterated the importance of having my own domain name and its content hosted in a safe place.
At some point in the near future, I'll rework parts of my website to make listening to my music more accessible. Right now, you can go to the Music page and find everything I've ever uploaded, and stream it from any device for free. If you do appreciate the music I've made, it would mean so much to me if you bought some albums from Bandcamp, or even picked up one of the CDs I'm selling there!
That said, you should also follow sleepiest too, because she created my Floating Amongst the Stars cover art - she's just the best and so is her art! 🤩
The world is being very cruel right now, but we'll win, eventually.
Take care xoxo
